Concrete, as a town, had a colorful and interesting history and those who took part even briefly never forgot "those old days in Concrete." Some of the itinerant workers who arrived with the building of the railroad in 1900 - Italians, Swedes, Norwegians, Greeks from the old country; plus Northerners, Southerners, Easterners of all nationalities remained to become accorded an unusual acceptance and welcome that made them feel at home.
