MONTBORNE, a town on the Northern Pacific Railway, in the southwestern part of Skagit County. The site was settled upon in 1884 by Dr. H. P. Montborne of Mount Vernon. (History of Skagit atnd Snohomish Counties, page 242.) On Kroll's map of Skagit County the spelling is "Mt. Bourne."
