Origin Notes and History of Covello
References to Covello that document the origin of its place name
COVELLO, a town in Columbia County. The settlement was first known as "Pioneer." In 1882, Wulzen & Shroeder, from San Francisco, erected a large store there. In November of that year a postoffice was secured and the name Covello chosen. (History of Southeastern Washington, page 278.)
