YALE, WIM railroad station 2 mi E and 5 mi S of Harvard; one of 8 stations bearing names of colleges and one of 6 said to be named by college students working on the railroad. During construction, this point was called Big Summit and rail tickets were so printed. The final naming of the siding as Yale followed the pattern set by Canfield in naming Harvard, with Princeton already established in 1896.
