Taku (steamer landing) adopted 6 May 1947 on 104/NW; re-approed 4 October 1951on 104N. Form of name changed to Taku (locality) 29 November 1984 (Ottawa file 203-2).
This is the point at which steamers from Carcross land freight and passengers enroute to Atlin; a tramway connects from Taku Landing to Atlin Lake. (Ottawa file OBF 0002).
