Fanny Bay (Post Office) adopted 2 December 1948 on C3590, as labelled on BC Lands' map 2A, from 1920 onwards. Form of name changed to Fanny Bay (Post Office & Railway Station) 2 November 1950 on 92 F, located at 49° 30' 20" x 124° 49' 45". Post office subsequently relocated to the settlement of Buckley Bay. The dual name "Buckley Bay (community)-Fanny Bay Post Office" was established by Ottawa, 15 December 1982 on 92F/10 located at 49º 32' 00" - 124º 51' 25". Dual name dismantled July 1993; BOTH features will be labelled on BC maps.

Fanny Bay Post Office opened 1 February 1916, located in a farmhouse on the north half of Lot 43 Newcastle Land District; prior to that time, the Fanny Bay "post" was essentially a mail chute adjacent to the E&N line where the track crossed the farm road. Fanny Bay Station remained at Lot 43, but Fanny Bay Post Office was relocated southward to Lot 47 in 1960, relocated further south to Lot 5G in March 1961, and in November 1973 the Fanny Bay Post Office was relocated north to Lot 2 in the settlement of Bulkley Bay. Fanny Bay Post Office not identified in Canada Post records after 2002.
