Adopted 29 September 1998 on 92G/5 as submitted by the chair of Sunshine Coast Regional District; a long-established local name, so-called in association with Mount Elphinstone, encompassing the area from Gibsons westward beyond Chaster Creek, and upland to the watershed reserve.
