Davis Bay (Settlement) adopted 4 February 1949 on C. 3579; name rescinded 14 January 1954 on 92 G/5. Name reinstated September 1965 - "sufficient numbers of permanent resident to warrant identification as a Settlement" (September 1965 notion on BC name card). Form of name subsequently changed to Davis Bay (community).
