Bliss Landing (Post Office) adopted 27 April 1945 on C.359l. Form of name changed to Bliss Landing (Settlement) 6 April 1950 on 92 NW; further changed to Bliss Landing (Locality) 31 May 1982.

Bishop Landing (Post Office) was opened 1 June 1917, named after P.W. Bishop, the first postmaster. Spelled "Bishops Landing" on BC map 2C, 1919. Post Office name changed to Bliss Landing 1 April 1923, situated on Lot 4201; Post Office closed 20 April 1960.
