Genoa Bay (village) adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC Lands' map 2A, 1920. Form of name changed to Genoa Bay (locality) 31 December 1982 on 92B/12.
Genoa Bay Post Office was opened 2 July 1914, located about 1/4 mile south of the Genoa Mill; closed 30 November 1926.
