Chief Lake (Post Office) adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, located on the south shore of Chief Lake. Name changed to Nukko Lake (Post Office) 7 March 1957 on 93J/2, now located on the NE side of Nukko Lake. Form of name changed to Nukko Lake (community) 29 November 1984 (Ottawa file 203-2).
