Osoyoos (Town) adopted 6 October 1936 on Geological Survey sheet 420A (82 E). Incorporated as a Village Municipality 14 January 1946; Osoyoos (Village) confirmed 7 October 1954 on 82 E/SW. Re-incorporated as a Town Municipality 30 June 1983, the date chosen so that the following day, Canada Day, the townspeople could celebrate their new name and status; Osoyoos (Town) confirmed 29 November 1984.
