Warfield (Station) adopted 2 June 1950 on 82 F/4, as labelled on BC Lands' maps 1EM, 1915, and 4A, 1920. Incorporated as a Village Municipality 8 December 1952; Warfield (Village) confirmed 5 March 1959 on 82 F/SW. Boundary amendment effective 8 September 1993, gazette date 21 October 1993; confirmed 13 July 1994 on 82 F/4.
Warfield Post Office opened 1 May 1939; since included as a sub-office of Trail Post Office.
Named after an official of the Trail smelter, an associate of F.A. Heinze, builder of the original Consolidated Mining Company (COMINCO) smelter.
