Boswell (Steamer Landing) adopted 7 April 1955 on 92M. Form of name changed to Boswell (Locality) 29 November 1984. Name rescinded 28 March 1988 on 92M/5. Reinstated as Boswell (Abandoned Locality) 27 October 1989. See Boswell Inlet for origin information.
Steamer service established to service the Boswell Cannery, eventually discontinued. Completely abandoned according to 1987 advice from Hydrographic Service, but the wharf remains, plus shelter & water are available, so the place is identified in Sailing Directions and on Hydrographic Charts.
