"Old Masset (settlement), not Masset (settlement)" adopted 2 December 1954, located on Masset IR 1. Old Masset (settlement) changed to Haida (settlement) 21 June 1973 on Chart 3804. Haida (settlement) rescinded jointly by Department of Indian & Northern Development 9 January 1979 and by BC, 18 December 1979 on 103K/1. Old Massett (community) re-instated with spelling change 8 April 1995 by BC, at the request of Old Massett Village Council. Approved by Department of Indian & Northern Affairs 15 February 1999.
