Cheam View (Post Office) and Cheam View (Station) adopted 6 October 1936 on Geological Survey sheet 422A, Hope, at 49 17 - 121 40. Coordinates of Cheam View (Post Office) adjusted 2 June 1950 to the location as shown on BC map 2B, 1914, and on Dept. of Highways planning documents, i.e. 3 miles south of flag station. Form of name changed to Cheam View (Settlement) in the 1966 BC Gazetteer; form of name changed to Cheam View (Locality) 15 April 1982 on 92 H/5.

Cheam View Post Office was opened 17 July 1914; situated at NW 1/4, Sec 26. Tp 3, R 28, W6M according to June 1936 advice from postmaster. Post Office closed 8 June 1957.
