Pinecrest (Post Office) adopted 14 August 1952 on 92G/1. Name changed to North Clearbrook (Post Office) 11 December 1952 on 92G/1. Name changed to Clearbrook (Post Office) 2 November 1956 on 92G/1 (file S.1.39). Form of name changed to Clearbrook (community) 20 October 1981 on 92G/1.

B.C. Geographical Names in Province of British Columbia

Pinecrest Post Office was opened 1 November 1952, so-named by the Post Office Department after a nearby auto court. Renamed North Clearbrook Post Office almost immediately, 9 December 1952, because of complaints from Clearbrook Board of Trade and from Matsqui Band. Eventually renamed Clearbrook Post Office. Post Office closed 30 January 1967.
