Creekside (Station) adopted 4 October 1956 on 92J at 50 19 - 122 43, as labelled on BC map 3K, 1932 et seq. Coordinates changed 22 June 1967 on 92J, as identified in PGER timetables. Form of name changed to Creekside (locality) 31 March 1983 on 92 J/7.

Creekside Post Office was opened 1 January 1938; renamed Mount Currie Post Office 1 November 1956.

Creekside Station [and Creekside Post Office] were originally located at Mile 99.8 from North Vancouver, according to PGER timetables. Relocated to Mile 106.0, between Spetch and Gramsons, as identified in PGER timetable 90, 1 May 1966.

This locale been known as Chilsampton, from the Lillooet word Shasheelhitchamton, "putting on the moccasins". The early natives went barefoot over the wet southern part of the Lillooet-Anderson Lakes (Pemberton) portage; at this point, on the edge of the dry belt, they put on their moccasins for the rest of the journey.
