Gellatly Post Office was opened 1 June 1903, C. Osborne postmaster; closed 30 June 1926.
After David Erskine Gellatly, large scale vegetable and fruit grower and dealer, 1900-17. Came from Scotland to Northern Ontario in 1883, then to the Okanagan Valley in 1893. "Father of the produce business in the Okanagan." "Tomato King of the Okanagan." Gellatly died at Vernon, March 7, 1922, aged 65. (12th Report of the Okanagan Historical Society, 1948).
