Regional District of Fraser-Fort George Regional District
The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) is a regional district in the Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada. It was incorporated on March 8, 1967, as one of 27 regional districts in the province. Before 1965, British Columbia's rural areas did not have a uniform local government structure, and relied on the province or incorporated as a local improvement district to access basic services. The RDFFG was created to provide a more efficient and effective way to deliver services to the residents of the region. The RDFFG is home to a diverse population, including First Nations, Métis, and European settlers. The region is rich in natural resources, including timber, oil and gas, and minerals. The RDFFG is also home to a number of important cultural and historical sites, including Fort George, the oldest continuously operating fur trading post in North America.
