Eddontenajon (Post Office) adopted 28 January 1964 on 104H/13 at 57°49' x 129°58'. Relocated to 57°50' x 129°59' and name changed to Iskut (Post Office) 1 May 1973 on 104H/13. Form of name changed to Iskut (community) 14 January 1983 on 104H/13.

Eddontenajon Post Office was opened 10 February 1965, located on unsurveyed land east of Highway 37 at the northeast end of Eddontenajon Lake. The Post Office was relocated sometime in 1972 to a surveyed parcel about 3 km northward, between Eddontenajon Lake and Kluachon Lake (4 January 1973 letter from Post Office Department). Re-named Iskut Post Office 1 July 1973.
