Fraser Lake (HBC post and telegraph station) adopted in the 7th Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, 30 June 1908. Form of name changed to Fraser Lake (Post Office & Railway Station) 2 November 1937 on Geological Survey sheet 630A, as labelled on BC map 1G, 1916 et seq. Incorporated as a Village Municipality 27 September 1966. Boundary amendment 23 October 1975, adding the minesite at 54° 02' - 125° 06'. Boundary amendment 6 January 1976, adding the sawmill site at 54° 04' - 124° 45'. Application altered 17 November 1981 on 93K/2 and 93K/3 to reflect all 3 incorporated areas.
