Colleymount (Post Office) adopted 6 October 1936 on Geological Survey sheet 369A, Smithers, as labelled on BC map 3B, 1920 et seq. Form of name changed to Colleymount (locality) 29 November 1984.

Colleymount Post Office was opened 1 April 1916, named in association with nearby Mount Colley. Post Office closed 3 August 1967.
