Castle Rock (Post Office, Ranch) adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC map 3G, 1919. Form of name changed to Castle Rock (Post Office) 16 January 1950 on BC map 3G; form of name changed to Castle Rock (settlement) 1 October 1965 on 93B; subsequently changed to Castle Rock (community).
Castle Rock Post Office was opened 1 June 1916, situated on Lot 6124; closed 31 August 1943; re-opened 12 May 1950, situated on SW 1/4 Lot 6126; closed 15 September 1951.
