Colquitz (Post Office) adopted 1 May 1934 on National Defence sheet 415a, Victoria, as labelled on BC map 2A, 1913 et seq. Form of name changed to Colquitz (community) 24 November 1980.

Garnham Post Office was opened 1 May 1893, located on Wilkinson Road near Carey Road, William Garnham postmaster. Re-located to BCER's Wilkinson Road Railway Station, and renamed Colquitz Post Office, 1 December 1902, John Chandler postmaster. Incorporated as a sub-office within Victoria Post Office 1 July 1955.
