Cadboro Bay (Post Office) adopted 12 June 1934 on National Defence sheet, Victoria, as identified in 1930 BC Gazetteer (Ottawa file OBF 1449). Form of name changed to Cadboro Bay (Community) 24 November 1980 on 92B/6.
Cadboro Bay Post Office opened 1 December 1914; designated a sub-office of Victoria Post Office 1 June 1946.
Sneka was the name of the Indian village once located here (November 1967 advice from Don Abbott, Provincial Museum).Sngeka is a more accurate spelling (November 1967 advice from Wilson Duff, Provincial Museum).
