Millstream (settlement) adopted 6 November 1934 on National Defence sheet, Goldstream, as labelled on BC map 2A, 1913, and as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Millstream (locality 29 November 1984 (Ottawa file 203-2). See Mill Stream (creek).

Millstream Post Office opened 1 April 1892; closed 30 June 1901; re-opened 1 June 1903; closed 1 July 1907; re-opened 14 March 1908; closed 11 November 1945. At the time of closing in November 1945, the post office was situated on the SW 1/4 Section 34.
