Taylor (Post Office) adopted 14 March 1929 on 94SE. Incorporated as a Village Municipality 23 August 1958; Taylor (Village) confirmed 1 December 1960 on 94SE. Re-incorporated as a District Municipality per Order in Council 31 March 1989; Taylor (District Municipality) confirmed 15 December 1989 on 94 A/2.

Taylor Post Office was opened 1 February 1923, originally located at SW 1/4 Sec 36, Tp 82, R 18, W6M. Named after David Taylor who arrived here in 1912, and was still living at Taylor in 1958 (CBUT News, 10 June 1958).
