Baxter Brady established a trading post in the Halfway River c1898; he relocated to this site in 1907, obtained a pre-emption in 1913 and established Brady Ranch, obtaining title in 1917; his descendants still run the enterprise. (March 2012 advice provided by Arthur Hadland, Fort St. John)
