Farrell Creek (Post Office) adopted 22 October 1945. Form of name changed to Farrell Creek (settlement) 19 March 1951 on 94A/SW. Form of name changed to Farrell Creek (locality) and coordinates adjusted 30 January 1981 on 94A.
Farrell Creek Post Office was opened 1 July 1931. Named in association with Farrell Creek, in turn after Henry Farrell, early homesteader in the area. Post Office closed 28 November 1958; at the time of closing, the post office was located on SE 1/4 Sec 9, Tp 83, R 23, W6M.
