Gundy (Railway Station) adopted 5 May 1949 on 93P/NE, as labelled on BC map 3Q, 1931. Form of name changed to Gundy (Post Office & Station) 6 February 1952 on 93P/9. Gundy (Post Office) identified in 1953 Gazetteer, Gundy (Station) in the 1966 Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Gundy (Locality) 15 February 1983 on 93P/9. Coordinates corrected 15 February 1983 from 55 37- 120 03 to 55 36 - 120 00, to reflect current centre of the community.
Gundy Post Office opened 15 January 1932, James Albert Killar, postmaster. By 1949 the post office had been moved into Alberta, later closed and mail directed to Pouce Coupe
The first rancher here sold his property to a Toronto syndicate [date not cited], two of the more prominent members being the Gundy brothers (their company since known as Wood, Gundy & Co.); from that time the property was called Gundy Ranch.
