Fair Harbour (Post Office) was adopted 17 March 1966 on 92 L/3, in association with the inlet of the same name. Identified as Fair Harbour (Steamer Landing) in the 1966 BC Gazetteer. Identified as Fair Harbour (Landing) in the 1973 Supplement to the 1966 Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Fair Harbour (locality) 15 February 1983 on 92 L/3.
