Chamiss Bay (Steamer Landing) adopted 19 January 1956 on 92L/3, as identified in 1939 BC Directory, and as listed in CP timetables from April 1954. Form of name changed to Chamiss Bay (Settlement) in the 1966 Gazetteer; changed to Chamiss Bay (Landing) 27 January 1976 on 92 L; changed to Chamiss Bay (Locality) 15 February 1983 on 92L/3.
