Elk Prairie (Post Office & Settlement) adopted 19 January 1956 on Columbia River Basin manuscript 82, as labelled on BC Lands' map 1EM, 1915, and as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, and as identified in the RCMP Gazetteer, 1955.
Elk Prairie Post Office was opened 1 October 1903, situated on Lot 8525, Gp.1; closed 13 June 1928.
