Marysville (Post Office, Station) adopted 4 November 1926 on Geological Survey map 297A, Cranbrook, as labelled on BC Lands' map 1EM, 1915 (file C.2.26). Marysville (Settlement) confirmed 4 October 1932 on 82 G/12. Marysville incorporated as a Village Municipality 7 March 1949. Marysville (Municipality) dissolved and amalgamated within City of Kimberley 1 November 1968. Form of name changed to Marysville (Community) 31 January1983 on 82 G/12.

Marysville Post Office was opened 1 February 1902; closed 30 March 1926 then re-opened 1 February 1927. The CPR stations Marysville and Marysville Junction, located about 2 miles apart, are both labelled on 1915 maps (opening dates not recorded). Marysville Junction was renamed Fir (station) by CPR approximately February 1936, and was so-identified in timetables through October 1967 (date of cancellation not recorded). Marysville Station was closed per notice in CPR timetable 3 December 1965.
