Identified as Crowsnest (Post Office, Station & Village) in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, as labelled on BC map 1EM, 1915. Form of name changed to Crowsnest (village) 12 December 1939 on 82/SE. Form of name changed to Crowsnest (locality) 29 November 1984 on 82 G/10. See Crowsnest Pass for name origin.
Crows Nest Post Office opened 1 June 1900; spelling adjusted to Crow's Nest Post Office in 1922; spelling adjusted to Crowsnest Post Office 23 May 1950.
