Cove Cliff (Steamer Landing) adopted 6 February 1948 on C.3434, as labelled on BC map 5B, 1929, and as identified in 1939 Directory. Form of name changed to Cove Cliff (Post Office) 3 February 1950 on 92/SE, located at 49 19 - 122 57. Form of name changed to Cove Cliff (Post Office & Steamer Landing) 3 May 1951 on 92G. Form of name changed to Cove Cliff (community) 17 July 1979 on 92G/7, as recommended by North Vancouver District Municipality (file N.1.51).

Cove Cliff Post Office was opened 1 March 1950. Not in Harbour Navigation Company Timetables after November 1950. Post Office amalgamated as a sub-office of Vancouver Post Office 17 October 1960.
