"So-named around the turn of the century by Judge William Norman Bole [see Belcara], utilizing the Celtic word carra, meaning 'a fair or lovely land', thus 'The fair land on which holly abounds', the Johnson boys having planted out a considerable number of holly trees to make the name good."
