Sydney Inlet (Post Office) adopted 3 July 1947. Name changed to Hot Springs Cove (Post Office) 6 February 1948 on 92 E/8. Rescinded 16 November 1977 on 92 E/8. Hot Springs Cove (locality) reinstated 20 July 1990 on 92 E/8, upon receiving advice from Superintendent of nearby Maquinna Provincial Park that there is a small year-round population here. Sidney Inlet [sic] Post Office was opened 1 May 1915; closed 31 July 1927 (located on Lot 316, Stewardson Inlet). Re-opened 21 July 1936 (located on Lot 1372, Refuge Cove). Renamed Sydney Inlet Post Office 2 October 1947 . Renamed Hot Springs Cove Post Office 23 June 1948; post office was closed 24 April 1973.
