Crescent Valley (Post Office & Station) adopted 7 July 1955 on Columbia River Basin manuscript 62, as labelled on BC map 1EM, 1915, and as identified in the 1953 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Crescent Valley (community) 15 December 1982 on 82 F/5.
CPR's station was first called "Bourgeois' Siding" then changed to Crescent Valley (taped interview with Yvette Swanson conducted by Mrs. Osachoff of Winlaw; dates not provided)
Crescent Valley Post Office was opened 1 July 1910.
