Sanca (Post Office) adopted 4 September 1947 on Columbia River Basin manuscript 47, as labelled on BC map 4B, 1912, and as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Sanca (settlement) 7 November 1962 on 82F/SE. Form of name changed to Sanca (locality) 29 November 1984.
