Chinook Cove (Post Office) adopted 3 March 1955 on 92P. Form of name changed to Chinook Cove (locality) in the 1977 Supplement to the 1966 BC Gazetteer.

Chinook Cove Post Office opened 1 January 1910. Note that the post office & settlement are across the river from CNR's Chinook Cove station. Post Office closed 30 June 1968.
