Adopted 1 January 1979 on 92I/2.
According to Vital Statistics in August 1958 a birth, death, or marriage took place recently in Shulus (locality). Shulus is recorded to be the name of a nearby band - Nicola (Lower) Shulus. According to D. Pearson (1967 Field Trip) "Shulus Community Hall" sign is on the Frist Nations Reserve (southern part) on the North side of the road, about half a mile southeast of the south east corner of Lot 129. It is recorded that the "community slightly West (see houses on 92-I SE, 1961) is named 'Shulus.'"
1968 Geographic Culture Check found that this settlement was an Indigenous mission on the reserve, south of the southern boundary of Lot 129 and North of the railway track.
